Which thumb-drive for USB music?

This thread motivated me to drive to Best Buy and purchase an $8 PNY 16g flash drive. Long story short, I simply dragged my songs from the iTunes playlist into the flash drive. I did nothing else. I stuck it in the truck USB port, it indexed for about 2 minutes (1200 songs) and it works perfect. All the album art, song titles, and artist names. I use sync to say my song or artist and it all works. Sharing a success story.
I bought the exact one and it works great

does it work the same for all of the My Touch? i have the base My Touch and plugged a usb with music in and it could not read it.
i'm assuming since it was NTFS and not FAT32 from what i read on this thread....would that fix my issue?

I'm no expert on this but I believe it must be FAT32 formatted to work. The $8 PNY flash drive was already FAT32 formatted when I bought it. I'm sure you can reformat it.

This worked great. I suggest if you are going to organize this many files, use folders to aid in searching for stuff.
Copied all my 78s, 45s, LPs, 8-Tracks, Cassettes, CDs, E-Books, classic radio programs (InnerSanctum, Mercury Theater, Jack Benny, Burns & Allen, Amos & Andy, Dragnet, etc.)
It took a few minutes to sync and is very reliable.

Hello,
I just purchased a San Disk 128gb Ultra Slim USB drive to use in my 2016 F-150 with the latest SYNC 3 updates. I have formatted the drive at FAT32 several times, but the truck keeps giving me "error unrecognized USB device or bad cable" message.
I can plug other USB drives of various size into the truck and they all start indexing.
I can take this drive and plug it into my wife's 2013 Edge and it instantly sees the drive and starts indexing. I can take the identical Sandisk 128gb that my wife uses to listen to her music and plug it into the F150 and I get the same error message.
I have tried Master Reset of SYNC and still no go for this drive. Guess I will have to send it back to Amazon.

If you can read it every where but the truck what does that tell you? It's not the drive it's your truck that's the problem. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable for NO LESS than 15 mins and try again.
