Default Thumb Drive

Hey Gang;
The thumb drive in my truck doesn't seem to want to cooperate. I call myself going through the menu, turning off the truck radio to try and reset...all to no avail. Any ideas?...thanks.

All I get is the "USB not detected"...it blinks like it's connecting for a few seconds to a minute, goes steady in red like it's being read but nothing...the files were in folders but I had the bright idea to make them all in one single playlist so...I copied them outside of the folders and deleted the folders to see if it made any difference. No change. The files play because I'm listening to the thumb drive now on my laptop. Since I bought the truck used there's no telling what the previous owner did but the darn "perimeter alarm" seems inoperative too IF from what I understand of it is correct. I tell ya, tech is neat on these new vehicles but when it doesn't work or it's not as "user friendly" as an old fart like myself would want, it gets a bit frustrating.

Try the USB 2 on the back of the head unit. And do a master reset of the unit.

Format your drive to FAT32 not NTFS and it should work fine.

What do you mean for the alarm? Try this: lock the truck, wait 30 seconds or more, unlock the door by turning the key, wait a few more seconds to see if it starts honking.

If it helps, I use this command for sync

“USB”

Might respond with “this contains protected content” so then say this

“Play all”

As has been said above. Format FAT32. I had issues with a 64GB drive but 32GB works fine. The 32 holds plenty of music.

I have a 256gb USB drive will all my music in WAV format (lossless.) I always catch myself growing impatient when it is synchronizing after I modified content. It takes a LONG time to sync.

Even then, there are times when it just stops working. Sync 2 is wonky as tish. Master reset is the only thing that works. (Followed by patience while it re-syncs.)
