Default throttle and transmission

Hi. I have a 2011 f150 with 120k miles. V6 - not ecoboost. Occasionally, within the fisrt few miles of driving, the transmission will kick into neutral and the throttle will become unresponsive. It will correct itself within a few seconds. I assume its going to continue, and get worse. Today, it added a new twist, it went to neutral and the engine started revving. Not a lot. Maybe 2000 rpm. Only lasted for a few seconds and then back to normal. I was told the brake pedal could override the throttle, but it doesn't override the transmission. Is there something in the transmission that can override the throttle? Thanks

There is a recall on 2011-2012 models with under 150k, I think it applies to the V6, because they all use the same transmission. Could be what you are experiencing. Search on NHTSA site. Transmission lead frame. Basically, it drops out of gear, sometimes tries to shove itself into another gear. If you're going 60 and it chooses 1st gear, hilarity ensues.

The recall does apply to my truck. I'll take it in and see what they say.

new MAF ? clean throttle body/plate? sounds like the computer that controls your butterfly valve is screwy, definitely take it in.

Would that cause the transmission to go into neutral? The transmission and throttle problem happen at the same time, every time.

It's because of how the computer works, if it is the lead frame issue, everything goes crazy and it generally goes into limp mode.
