Thoughts on this deal for a 2014 FX4

New member here..... been looking to get into an F150 for a while and been searching and learning. I have pretty much decided on a 2013-2017 F150 FX4 4WD Super Crew and had been leaning towards the EcoBoost 3.5 over the V8 engine. I have also convinced myself that I wanted to find a 3.73 rear to be able to potentially run 35's with a lift.

I found this model, seemingly loaded with low miles (34k) for $36000 that I am going to go test drive tomorrow. I am located in the Northern VA area.

I am coming from owing a Jeep and I am new to the valuations on Fords so I would appreciate any feedback on this deal.

They provide the original sticker to check out the build, displayed at this link: http://www.windowsticker.forddirect....FW1ET9EKG02070

They probably paid around $29,000-$32,000 as that is the fair market value of the vehicle as a trade in for your area.

$36,000 isn't a bad price but I would try to get it for 33k or 34k.

Just remember to go there ready to buy as long as the deal is right. Don't be a "shopper", salesman can spot a "shopper" coming and won't work for you. If you are ready to buy as long as the price is right they will work for you.

Looks like it could be a really nice truck otherwise.

i just bought a 2014 Ecoboost XLT, with 33k mileage and Max Tow package, for around $31k.
but i bought it to tow my travel trailer.

that FX4 doesn't have the max tow package, has a lower GVWR, and has a lot of extra weight that lowers the payload and towing capacity.
but it's got lots of bling!

I bought a VERY similar truck in Feb of 2015, mine had 3.55's and was a 157" truck. I paid 36,000 for it then. It was 14 months old (from original sale) and had 14,000 miles. I'd say that is a high price...

Yeah, he knows that I am not a shopper. I had actually agreed to get a 2013 Fx4 (lower optioned) earlier this week (as an additional car in my stable) when I was involved in an accident on Tuesday and my Jeep Wrangler was totaled :( (at least not my fault) .

Then this one popped up on one of his other dealer networks and I like the engine AND gearing better (not going to lie..... the other options make it nicer too).

Not too bad of a price - I just bought the same truck in July except it was a 2013 for $30,000 with 55k miles, and it was certified pre owned. They were asking $35,000 online.

For that truck I would aim for 31-33k.

Wow, makes me consider trying to sell my truck again if I can get that for it. I have a very similar truck, although I have 3.55 rear gears and aftermarket 20's with stock 18's as a back-up wheel.

Mines a 2013 much like the one you are looking at with about 25,000 miles on it and I was trying to get 30k for it lol. Ended up changing my mind and keeping it.

If you have not taken the time to research the ecoboost, please do so before you commit to buy. They are fun, but they do have mechanical problems that will leave you frustrated and possibly very expensive to fix. A 5L of this same style will provide you with a vastly easier ownership experience.

Hi, I have a very similar F150
2014 - FX4 I purchased New / except its a SuperCab.
3.5 Eco - I have about 34K miles on it, Never had any problems at all,
my father has a 2011 XLT with the same motor 3.5 and about 70K Miles with no issues either.. I know the Super Crew's are a little more expensive ( I would say $33-34K would be pretty fair ) depends on how clean it is too.
3 of my neighbors have 2011-2012 XLT's ( 2 with the 3.5 Eco ) 1 with a V8. no one has issues with their F150's...

Good luck ! hope it works out for ya. Sorry to hear about your Jeep. I love my Wrangler too

There are some really good deals now on new 2017s, in fact ours cost just unde $36k. (after I got them down from $46,850) Supercab XLT 5.0, but they had a SCrew on sale for $34 that I looked at first. The only difference otherwise was the rear end, 3.55 on ours and the SCrew.
