Default Thoughts on 6spd swap on FX2...

I'm thinking about doing a 6 speed swap on my 14fx2 5.0 and wanted some opinions. Definitely would be different but how pricey?

a Tremec T6 would be good but its something like $5k, youd need the adapter to your engine, then your computer needs recoded so it doesnt think theres an automatic and a bunch of other stuff. I would estimate total would be around $8-9k.

I've been wanting to do the same, as the truck would be more fun and safer in the snow with a stick.

My current truck is worth about $20K less than a new aluminum one, so if you could fit a manual transmission between the transmission and transfer case for less than $10K installed you might be able to make a convincing argument.

With the new Rangers probably NOT having a stick, this is even more interesting...

Absolutely, I think it would be a one of a kind build I can piece together and prolly increase the value of the truck. Not that I would ever sell it lol

Do it!

I'd be interested in doing it, but it'd be nice to see someone do it first.

It would be a hell of a lot of work. But you should totally do it, and take pictures.

Go onto power nation website and look at their f100 build. They did a 3.5 ecoboost with a manual behind it. Can't remember if they went 5 or 6 speed though. Thinking it was a 5

oh how i would love to have a manual transmission in my truck...... So much better control.

And in the snow, it's the best thing ever.

if you can do it, please, please do a step by step writeup with a parts list.
