Default Thoughts on 3.7 v6

I might be purchasing a used 2012 xlt supercrew with the 3.7 What are some thoughts about it? I have been impressed so far, the dealer let me keep it overnight.

I haven't heard anything negative about the engine. There are a few threads on it in the engine section. People that have it seem to be happy and the fuel economy is good

I also haven't heard anything negative about it and it cruises very nicely, but in the end I like to romp on it once and a while and just couldn't get over the noise the engine made compared to a 5.0 when you wanted to get up and go. I felt the 2-3mpg difference was negligable especially with the deals Ford had at the time.

I have the 3.7L 4x4 Scab and love it......plenty of power as long as you don't plan on pulling a really heavy trailer !

I have a 2012 XLT Scab with 3.7 with tow package (3.73 gears). After 20K I have no complaints. Very smooth. Enough torque for hauling and always enough power to pass on hwy when needed. It's really quiet but love the sound when you rev it up. Not the same growl note as my buddies 5.7 hemi but still nice! Mileage not the greatest in the winter but below 0 (Canada) most will get worse mileage...

Default 2011 xlt 3.7 scab 2x

I am very satisfied with the engine. I had to have FLEX thats why I didnt go EB. I thought I was just going to get an V8 (I thought all the 6's were EB) On the test ride I thought I was driving a V8. Now I didnt really stomp it or anything but It had way more power than my bigger straight six in my old truck. When I found out it was a V6 I was even more impressed!

If you are going to routinely max it out hauling or towing Id get the v8, but if you are like most and will do most driving with an empty bed or a light load.......I recommend the 3.7

I love my 3.7 screw! It has plenty of power for me and I get 22-23 going 70 on the highway and about 17-18 in the city. I don't haul or tow anything really so it made since for me to get the 3.7
