Yeah let the projector people yell at everyone with HIDs in stock housings. To be be honest I'm never flashed with them and when I put them in they were at the same level as the halogens were so how is there that much glare? Just like someone else put it, if you want to give me $1000 to put projectors on my truck ill gladly take it

I have had 35 watt 4300K Bi's in the headlights for a year now.. and I never get flashed for them..
Now the 35 watt 3000K Fogs I get flashed because the bulb is fully exposed.. so those never get ran in traffic..
Personally I think the bezel on the 09's and up provide a natural cut off damn near the same as halogens... I think the glare issue is inherent with the shape of the bezel.. I would have never of put them in my ranger for that simple fact... I see older Chevy's around here and the on coming glare is horrendous due to the shape of that bezel.. the new Tacos are a bad design for them as well... 55watt HIDS seem to compound the glare issue as well..
Projectors are a cool idea but I really don't see the advantage to them other than making the head lights look like a transformers eye ball....
I do know that the state troopers up here are cracking down on the super hi output 55watters for the main headlights If they see blue lights 5K or 6K and higher with a lot of glare guys are getting pulled over for them..

I'm not spending time to take a picture to prove I'm right. You can believe me or not. But there is no problem with mine. You could put my truck side by side with my boss' Acura with his factory HIDs with projectors and you would think his are more blue and have more glare than mine. Again believe me or not. I don't care

Where does this $1000.00 figure keep coming from?
You need $350.00 and some basic skills to have very high quality projector lighting from http://www.theretrofitsource.com.
You don't have to put projectors in, nobody would say you must. You can always keep your halogens in. They're really not that bad. If you're going to modify something why not make it better at the same time?

Your boss' lights very well may be more blue than yours. They do bluify as they age.

Spoken like a true self-righteous guy. It was a legitimate question wasn't it? Who doesn't wan't to see pics of other folks set ups? Do you know for sure he was stirring up crap or is it that you feel the picture would fail to prove you right?

Oh, and FWIW, it's impossibru for standard hid bulbs to have any true cutoff.

I was running a 35w 6000k pnp kit in stock housings for a little while until I picked up a set of used retro's from a forum member. The cutoff wasn't too bad but there was a little unnecessary scattering of light. Honestly I never really noticed until seeing the difference projectors made. Much more focused light. Ill try to post pics of the cutoff with both setups. I'm sure that will rile up some more tension. Lol.
