I have a pair of tow hooks I removed to install tow bar brackets. I would let them go for $20.00 plus shipping.

A heads-up to anyone who might be interested in doing this: I just ordered the front bumper lower valence (for "with tow hooks"), #9L3Z-17626-B, from fordparts.com, and got it from my local dealer for $132 + tax. Less expensive than what I could find used on eBay. Also, there seem to be plenty of inexpensive pairs of tow hooks floating around eBay; I got a pair of the longer tow hooks (apparently 04-08 had a longer "U" portion, but mounting plate is still the same) in black, with hardware, for under $30 shipped. They're a little rusty at the welds, but I'll just spend a few bucks to have a local place powder coat them. All told, I should be around $200, with the majority of that being the new valence ($142 after tax).

Thanks for the write-up, MPETE! Helped me to know this add-on was feasible, and I'm sure the installation walk-through will be helpful

I have actually planned this and got a set of tow hooks at the JY for $8. I was planning on cutting the stock valance because I need to do this on the cheap. Does anyone foresee any problems? I can take my time and cut it cleanly; I know that it won't be as smooth or "finished" but I think should look ok.

I have some tow hooks that I need to put on my truck however I have that weird valence as I have an FX2. My assumption is that I could buy a FX4 valence and do it but not sure I want to do that quite yet.

A few years ago someone had an FX2 and got the FX4 one. It worked. Not sure price though

Is there any reason the stock non-hook valance couldn't be modified with a dremel or mini cutoff ?

Just left Ford getting prices.

My prices at Ford aren't what you would paid, I have an account there and get employee pricing and don't pay taxes.

1 - Panel - 9L3Z-17626-B = 106.56 List price is 146.78
2 - Hooks - 9L3Z-17A954-AA = 82.40 List price is 113.50
4 - Nuts - W712330-S441 = 14.28 List price is 23.60
6 - Bolts - W713172-S901 = 7.50 List price is 12.30

My price is 210.74
List is 296.18

Can you please post before and after pics? Looks like it's gonna cost me around 200 to do it. After you post pics I'll decide. Curious to see if it removes the painted pieces that hang low on the FX2s.

I just want to confirm that these are the only pieces needed to convert a FX2 front lower valance to a FX4 lower Valance. Going today to order parts!
