I orderd my tires today from a friend/ the owner of the ford dealership where I bought my truck. I decided to go with the LT275/70R18 BFGoodrich Rugged Terrain. The tire fits my driving habits and conditions best plus total price out the door, mounted, balanced, everything...........$835.00 The leveling kit will go on next week. The tires get installed on Thursday morning when I leave WV headed for NC for a little R&R.

I use an Edge programmer to fix the speedo. The factory setting is optimistic by about 2mph at 60mph. This is done by all car manufacturers for liability reasons.

Bobby, I have always thought that but wasn't sure. The guy I'm buying my tires from said he will have his guys plug the computer into the truck and see if they are able to make any adjustments.

How do you like the Edge Programmer? Have you had any issues with it? My next purchase come May will either be, a programmer, aftermarket wheels (Fuel Mavericks "milled"), or Amp Research power steps. Can't decide.

I think most programmers give you the option to change tire size (fix speedo). The dealer can only change to whatever stock sizes the truck can come with from the factory.

This was the main reason I got the Edge programmer. I can also get custom tunes from PHP if I ever decide to get them. I got my wheels and tires before the tuner and noticed that it was slower (more sluggish) with the new, bigger and heavier tires and on the highway, it was constantly shifting from 6th to 5th any time I gave it gas. With the tuner, I found that my truck is just as responsive as before the wheel/tire change. Maybe a bit more power than before. I do have a Corsa db exhaust so that might've helped (stock airbox, no mods).

I would definitely recommend the tuner first. It sucked driving around with the new wheels and tires w/o the tuner.

The only issue I had was after an update was available from Edge. You put the stock tune back in your truck, update the Edge tuner and then reflash the truck again. Mine wouldn't reflash after the update. I sent an email to Edge support and they sent me a new update in a couple of hours and I was up and running again.

I got my Edge CS from Autoanything.com (forum supporter). The only thing I would've done differently would be to get the Edge CTS with the bigger touch screen. I thought I was just going to flash and take it off but the dashboard has a lot of great info and it's customizeable.
