Are you putting the bead along the outside? I had mine replaced about two weeks ago and have been thinking about putting clear silicone along the outside. Can you take a pic of what you mean?

No, put the bead on the inside of the light. Hard to explain but when the light is off, its larger than the body so you have plenty of room to put a bead down. I still have gasket too, but this is the first defense and honestly better than the bad design. Suprised you're the first to actually comment on this.

I don't have pics or will be able to get them, but this will be better than caulk. Either way, take the light off and you can put either down and it not be seen. The 3M stuff is reusable though moreso than the caulk.

I plan on using this method. I'm assuming can get at any hardware store like lowes or home depot? Maybe a parts store ?

Don't think you can get it at the home improvement stores. A body shop may sell you some or a body shop supply house or else online.

Thanks. I'll take it apart and see what I can do. My wife will be thankful too now that I have a little weekend project haha

I reading all these posts about rear brake lite leaking water . When it leaks where does it normaly show up at . I have a 2004 extended cab where water is showing up under the carpet front & rear on pass side & in wire channel. I have pulled back carpet front & rear , pulled out back seat can't seem to see any traces of water leaking in.

Mine was running down the back pillar post and a little down back glass on passenger side. It was defiantly the break light sealed it with silicon no more water.
