Default Are there any common issues with 2011-2014 Crew Cabs?

I'm looking to buy a used twelfth generation F150 crew cab, and was wondering if there are any common issues that I should be aware of before I make a purchase. I figured this would be the best place to find out If there's something that I should look for before I drive off the lot.

Stay away from exorcist unless you have full service records. Last thing you want to do is pay for timing chains to be done out of warranty. If you can buy extended warranty if you must have the economist. Other than that they are great trucks. I have a 2012 5.0 and love it. 77000 Kms on it and no real problem. I had a bad timing tensioner that was fixed under warranty. Any other problems I created by the way I drive

Everybody will want to ride in your truck since you have a crew cab.

I suspect your autocorrect was hacked by Ford... every time you try to bash the EB, it corrects it to "exorcist" and "economist"

A small minority of the EB have the shudder issue (even if this forum would lead you to think that every single one has issues), but there are steps to resolve it now. the EB is not more prone to problems than the 5.dough or vice-versa. Buying a used truck is always a bit of a gamble regardless.

Some have 100,000's trouble-free miles, others are in the shop every month, it depends.

The 3rd brake light leak seems "common" around here (check the headliner), the IWE (4wd noise) crap out... an extended warranty may be worth the peace of mind to you. Just be sure to check what it does and doesn't cover!

How common is the IWE issue on a 2012?

I noticed while off-roading while in 4wd, stuck uphill in sand, I tried turning and reversing and had a grinding noise up front while slightly under throttle. I got out of my stuck and no noise after that. I figured it had to do with the steering as my wheels were turned.

However while backing into my driveway, the edge of my drive is dirt/mud and the driver side tire doesn't have traction and I hear grinding from the front while in 2wd. I can shift into 4wd and I do so to get far enough up into my drive. I shift into 2wd and turn off my truck. No problems driving it after this happens and my incident in the sand was in June. No problems arose after that one either.
