Default Texas Edition in Minnesota

Hi guys,
I just bought a 2013 XLT Texas Edition and i moved outa Texas back home. My uncle told me i was stupid for buying a truck from texas because they are not meant to handle salt and what not. Is that true? And what does Texas Edition mean?
Thanks

Appreciate all the inputs guys. I couldn't tell a diff between my truck and the other XLT trucks up here. At least no diff on the outside. Huh

I doubt there is any difference. The only things they change when they ship them to Canada is add a block heater, change cluster(kph) and day time running lights. As far as I know thats the only changes.
