Default Tested My Air Bag Effectiveness Today

So today I got T-boned by a 98 Ford Escort running the light.
Instant depreciation.
Was interesting to see just what all that side impact safety talk was about.'
Held up pretty good. Front door still worked. Back door too messed up.
Sync called 911 after airbag deployment. Truck automatically turned off engine and turned on hazard blinkers.
Battery got disconnected and was towed on a flat deck from scene.
I did not try to start after crash. Can't drive with 4 air bags down anyways.
No one seriously hurt. My wife and daughter were in her Honda and were the closest witnesses. My truck was killed 10 feet in front of them. Very upset family watching daddy get pasted.
Now the insurance nightmare begins....

Better you and the F150 than your wife and kids in a Honda. Glad you're ok.

Agreed, that honda wouldn't have taken that hit nearly as well.
Good to hear everyone is ok.

Yes, what everyone said. Glad it was you and not your wife and daughter in a Honda, though. I am glad you're OK.

I hope insurance gets you into a new truck. I'm sure the 4 deployed airbags will help your cause greatly. Those bitches are expensive to replace. If they don't write it off, I'd probably sell it off when you get it back, lol!

If it weren't for that airbag, you may have not noticed right away there was a Ford Escort stuck in the side of your truck.

All joking aside, very glad you are okay!

Also glad you're ok. Tough to tell all the damage from the pics but it's adding up pretty quick: 2 passenger doors, 4 side curtain air bags, step bar, out rocker panels, possibly inner rockers, metal work on rear cab most likely, rear door panel looks like it needs replaced, paint/body work, cab mounts? frame damage? etc etc. Hope they total it for ya.
