Since this was originally done, years ago, Ford substantially (greed) changed the price!

Your going to want to plug that hole in the panel. My truck had that hole, it filled with snow and ice last winter and it's right behind the tailgate handle. At least mine was. I couldn't open the tailgate all winter. Once it thawed I plugged it right away, I didn't want gravel or anything else I needed to haul making it's way inside. Found a black plastic plug at the hardware store that fit perfect.

Edit, sorry just saw the recent last post and replied

Yep, kicking myself every day for not ordering one back then.

I just got a 2011 F150 SuperCab and was looking to remove the "stripper pole" in order to get a spray in bed liner. Seeing how much the access cover went up, I looked for a cheaper alternative and found this access cover part number YL3Z-9943121-AA. It is nearly the same part number as 9L3Z-9943121-A. I know it says that it does not fit the 2009+ F150's but I can't see how it can fit nearly every other F-Series truck for the last 10+ years but not the 2009+ F150's. I was wondering if anyone here has taken the leap to try it before I decide whether to use that access cover or not.

That's for an 11th gen. (04-08). It won't fit. When I went through this a few months ago I tried fitting the one from my son's 05. No go.

Thanks for the clarification.

I have (what I believe is) an 04-08 access cover on my 2012. It physically fits on the truck, but not correctly. It's about an inch too narrow (front to back). I've been looking for a replacement for nearly a year with no luck. The was a thread where a member welded some sheet metal to the 04-08 panel to make it fit. I may go the same route
