Don't know if its been mentioned here, but I read to trim out the center hump of the tab so the panel will sit flush, rather than cutting the whole tab off. I did that tonight and you still have the tab so it still holds the step plate tight. About 2 minutes with the box cutter and I'm done. Line x ASAP.

I removed the pole on my last super duty and what a huge difference it made! Both in access to the bed and looks. I loved the step but hated the Handle. Luckily, I got the metal access cover at a junk yard for about $6 and the plastic tailgate bed liner piece online new for about $30. Very easy mod and made like much easier in my opinion. Looks great!

I would order locally...
I ordered from tasca they don't protect it well enough it was bent into an L shape by UPS.
Lot of creases on it that look like crap but my linex guy was able to smooth things out for me.
