Default Tailgate issue/replacement

I am trying to help my boyfriend as he needs a replacement as he has bent the tailgate due to the weight of his loading and unloading his commercial mower and the cable on the side was missing for two days- this caused one side of the tailgate to bend outward. Please email me kburggr1@jhmi.edu to let me know the cheapest way to get a replacement tailgate. Thanks Karen

CL = Craigslist

I'd check classifieds (craigslist, etc..), or local scrap yards.

What year is the truck?

There is a for sale section on the forums, maybe someone is selling what he needs?

I would also check the local body shops as well. it may be cheaper than buying a new one.

I've bought and sold on ebay for many years, sold an entire engine using it. Just be sure to check the sellers feedback.

Be careful about stuff like this on fleaBay. Most of the tailgates (and other parts) are not OEM Ford and are cheap Chinese knock-offs. I know, I've been looking for a replacement tailgate too...

Where exactly are you, I know of a Bare black tailgate in the Knoxville TN area that the Body shop would love to sell if he still has it.
