Default Tailgate bouncing around when down

Does anybody know how to keep the tailgate from bouncing around when down I can't even drive across the yard without sounding like somebody trying to ripe it off the truck. I've tried to put the shock that is for letting down, don't remember what its called but anyway that doesn't keep it from bouncing around neither. What do yall do to keep it from bouncing around.

The ez down tailgate assist will help keep it down but probably not stop it. Why do you need to drive around with the tailgate down? That actually hurts your mpgs.

Don't leave it open over rough roads because those two metal cables holding it will come off and you'll get two big *** dents when the tailgate falls on the bumper.

Get something to sit on it. When my dad and I go 4wheeling, we put his Honda Recon on the tailgate so it doesn't pop up and down
