Default Tail-light guards... Anyone?

A little backstory: Yesterday I purchased a Go Rhino brush guard off a seller on Craigslist. While picking it up he decides to throw in a set of tail light cover/guards that he had laying around.

Fast forward to today: I install the taillight guards and notice that when I shut my tailgate it hits the bracket of the cover. I'm wondering if this is normal or if someone has an anecdote for my problem. I'll get some pictures and post them up. Thanks!

Well... if you really like them it looks like some minor trimming would solve the problem. Then you will get that "custom" look lol

Not a bad idea, we've got some wicked creeks around here.

No need to be sorry, I can appreciate a different opinion.
