Tablet Seat Bolt Mounts...
 

Anyone find a decent unit but not too expensive to mount a 10.1" tablet in my truck and has sufficient height for viewing? Pics would be nice!

I have a Ram mount in my company Super Duty for my laptop and it works pretty well. Other guys I work with all use them and in multiple kinds of vehicles. I think these are the ones police use as well. I know I am not exactly sticking to your "not too expensive" guideline but I figured I would throw it out there anyway...

Saw that as well and it is cheaper on ...does look nice but would love to see it setup in our trucks as well as a review.

Me too...our center consoles are quite tall compared to a car.

I've used RAM mounts for my iPad in several vehicles and it has worked out quite well.

The number of options can be a bit overwhelming... On my truck, I went with the larger "C" size components and mounted directly to the center console, with some reinforcement underneath. I went through a few different setups and am really happy with the setup as it stands. It is the perfect reach, super easy to read at even a glance. Since it is angled towards the driver, much more visible than even OEM in-dash setups. Rarely am I in my truck for a longer-than 15 minute drive without a mapping/traffic/speed-trap alert app running, and for longer drives, I have multiple full nav solutions.

They also have setups that attach to the seat base bolts, both flexible shafts and rigid adjustable posts. Keep in mind, though, that the longer the moment arm, the more rigid the mount needs to be. By using the console vs. the seat base, the arm is about half the length. One guy in the above thread made a mount that went into the small change holder on the dash, giving a really short arm. I looked at that as well, but the lack of metal and relatively thin plastic had me opt for a console mount.

Here's an example of a RAM post style mount in an F150. Significantly more expensive, and I think overkill for a small tablet. Designed for laptops and other heavier equipment.

This is what the flex stalks setup look like... I think the Posts are too heavy, but think with the longer arm and semi-flexible shaft, these might vibrate around a bit too much on any sort of rough road.

@SVTF150: I saw that when it was first posted last year...too much work although a great idea....

FYI...I am using a 10.1" Toshiba Thrive for this application.
