I was using BG Goodrich KO2's, only lasted 7 years with less than 45k miles. I must have hit a Michigan pothole and the front tire was splitting down the middle. The KO3's are supposed to be longer lasting, but I don't go mudding....

I decided to put on some Michelin Defender LTX M/52's, street tires. They're rated for 70k miles and the ride is much smoother and quieter.

Sorry all, it has been a busy month. Thank you for the inputs and suggestions.

We ended up going with Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 - 285/45/R22. Per DiscountTire, we could not go wider than 285.

It has great reviews, well known brand, now drives great and it looks perfect - just the right amount of aggressiveness without looking like an off-road truck.

I think you'll be more than satisfied with them. They look very much like a street biased tire but it seems everyone that runs them is also happy with performance in other terrains. Obviously it's not a mud tire. But I doubt you're taking that truck mudding to begin with

Just seeing your comment now. We do love it - it has been great.

It does look a bit more street than terrain look-wise but it is still somewhat aggressive. We didn’t want slick looking street tires.

You’re right, we don’t intend to go off-roading / mudding with this truck - we only want it to handle well in the beach sand/dirt.

For those of you who are looking at these tires for your truck, I’d say go for it - you won’t be disappointed. Unless if you plan to do off-roading/mudding, of course.

Those look nice. Great to know it lasts that long and still have plenty of tread left.

I have Laufen XFit AT. They have held up great and as you can see i live in the mountains. Have around 60,000 miles on them now and still pass inspection!
