Most of the time this is the issue with music downloaded from F'ing Itunes that is in the m4p format. A few years ago Apple with into DRM mode to protect music from being copied onto other devices and have recently cut ties with that format.
So if your trying to copy stuff from Itunes from a few years ago you'll have to convert it to another format if you can or re-download hopefully from another source. Been using Amazon Music lately and it is every bit as good if not better than Itunes, so far so good. Haven't encountered any copy / transferable protected music yet.

SYNC 3 USB issue
Hello,
I had an issue with USB sticks not working in the Sync 3 system. It appears as thought there might be hardware compatability issues. I made a video outlining an issue I had.. hope it helps

Is the USB formatted to FAT32? Also, I recommend checking the file names because the supported music file types are .mp3, .wma, .wav, and .aac. Keep me posted!

Hi robert999,
Are the music files matching the supported ones that Cara listed? If so, what happens exactly when you try to use the SYNC media option? Are you using the voice commands?
