Sync Video and NAV Bypass

You can add a second camera if your truck didn't come with the rear camera from the factory. You may be able to add a second camera with the factory backup camera but it would be extra work. I put my front camera on bottom of my grill and ran the wires along the hood, down the firewall and into the cab.

I am no expert on this matter however here is what i have learned... I owned a 2007 f150 and decided to add a kenwood dnx7100 nav dvd cool device. I installed myself ( again no expert here ) the first problem i had was that I left a cable loose since i did not know how to attached into the brake system. ( the video said it had to be attached in order to work) by searching online, i found that this cable , as long as you connect it to a bare metal piece, it will bypass the break system and will work. I did that, i screwed this wire to the bare metal and never had to hit the break or the parking in order to play videos. I wonder if there is something similar on this system. where we can run a wire from the connector and bypass it. ( not to mention saving yourself 260 $$ Any experts on this matter please share ..

Predator Master
I installed mine in under an hour. The trick is having an extra hand and good lighting. Then the install can be done in 45 minutes. Here are a few issues one needs to think about. Be careful removing the bolts/screws from the very top of the dash or you will end up scratching it. In other words, use a hand screw driver for those two instead of a power drill. I put masking tape over the trim to ensure I didn't scratch it Any worse. Next hint, install the unit where you can access it without tearing into the dash. I didn't do this, mine needed an update and I had to redo it... it was horrible. Try to go into the dash as few times as possible.

Ok so does anyone know how the lock pick affects stock warranties? I saw a post earlier in here that said some dealerships are selling them, so I'm assuming they are just a laid back mod friendly dealership. But does anyone that woks at a dealer know for sure?

As to the question about warranty, it hasn't been a problem for me yet but it is also easy to remove if I need the stereo worked on. Insurance may not be too friendly if they can prove the video screen was a factor in an accident...

This will be something I will be looking at getting very soon.
The only thing that has me confused is the fact that some guys are saying that they can play DVD's on the stock Nav systems in park. I have a 2013 Platinum and just tried a DVD in it and it will not play so my question is how are you fellows doing this? Is it something to do with the lock pick itself?

Ebay unlock video/nav unlock information
So, I have been looking for a way for my passengers to enjoy long trips by unlocking video in motion. I have tried Forscan, and looked at the various
hardware (NavTool, Naviks, Coastal, etc...) solutions, but not willing to pull my wallet from my hip. Well, last night, while preparing to go out of town,
I stumbled onto a guy claiming he has an unlock software patch (apparently based off of your sync serial number) that requires (and I quote):
No need to disassemble unit.
Easy to install.
No coding software or coding cable needed.
My question to you fine f150 folks is, what do you think the odds are (Not terribly priced @ $50)?
What side effects could there be to the rest of the system?
Has anyone heard or tried it before?
I am willing to try and report my results, but wanted to see if anyone would voice concerns (other than "Why would you want to" or "Hey that's like texting and driving").
I had Video in motion in my last 2 cars (Honda ridgeline & Nissan Armada LE) both which were simple to do. This one has been a bear to figure out.
Thanks for your input!!!
QUICK UPDATE: I went ahead and ordered. VERY quick response time and it has shipped. Says it will be here next Wednesday. USB (I am guessing a jump drive) and instructions. When I sent the seller a question, I got this back:
"Hello, it's just a software patch that disables driving restrictions for any UI components.
It doesn't affect any other system functions.
The solution can be installed only via USB drive."
I'll let you know what happens.

UPDATED:
So, I ordered and received the info. Took about 10 minutes total to do the patch. EASY as it could be. No opening of anything, no disassembly. It rebooted and
immediately worked. Video is working while driving. It did nothing to the system. Everything seems to be working fine. If anyone needs the info on this, just let me know.
