I'm confused - I bought a new 2014 just about 4 weeks back (it had been on the lot a long time) came home and did the Sync upgrade and it had the Siri Eyes Free a month ago. Was that just limited release until now? Or what did I miss? This is not new news.

And for the one asking if you've got to have a crappy iPhone to use it - since Siri is an iPhone/Apple tool the obvious answer is yes.

So this doesn't apply to the basic sync radios that ford had us update to 4.4? (Stx radio) Cause they need to fix that too lol. I hate stync

Yes, this does not apply to the folks with the SYNC 4.4. We already have the voice - text function, talk to Siri anytime you like...I do it frequently.

It's called "Google Now". It works fantastic. Side by side it's identical to 'Siri' and Cortana. Does anything and everything Siri can do. There are a boat load of similar apps to Siri in the app store, if you choose to go with a alternative app.
Android, has had all these features implemented into Sync for a while now. Although I haven't asked my phone to schedule an appointment or what the forecast is with Google Now, while connected. So I shouldn't rule that out yet.
Like my 'Boston Bruins' friend said, after that 3.8 update Sync actually works pretty damn good now.
I do find it hilarious to ask Sync to turn down the cabin temperature, rather than reach over and turn the dial two degrees tho.
I'm sure I just kicked started a IOS vs Google debate.
I don't know about IOS, but with Android you can install a little hot assistant. Careful tho, my woman was actually jealous of how I set her up. Um ya, my chick has issues.

Sync 3 is not an upgrade. Has to be factory installed. It's still not offered on all vehicles yet.

I also think they haven't abandoned MFT, because the 15's are running the same version of Sync we are.

Damn.... So long Microsoft. Gone before I was able to have Cortana in my truck :'(


And the iPhone vs Android war that's been going on can chill, we all know Windows Phone is far superior!

from my reading and understanding sync 3 will not be an upgrade for us with MFT because it requires different hardware under the hood so to speak. I think the chip set along with other things are different.
