Y'all might consider that this is a apple issue instead of a sync issue. So is reaching down and pulling the USB cable such a big freaking deal to avoid the index problem? Geez

just to update, I have not had the indexing issue with my ipod since doing the update I mentioned, I do not unplug my Ipod, pretty much ever. I was pulling the fuse to reset sync every 3 weeks or so, I dont remember doing it but maybe once since the update

Brycicles - I never had to remove the negative terminal to clear that issue, 2 minutes to yank the fuse in the pass side footwell fixed it and you dont have to re-set anything else either (dont lose phone, phonebook, time, radio pre-sets or anything else)

Little info with no quotes because I'm on mobile. No idea on current sync version, whatever my 2012 came with, I shouldn't have to update it. No iPod either so that wasn't the case, I use a little minimalist SanDisk 16gb. I suppose the fuse would be easiest, can I get a number on which one sync is for future references?

4.2.1 is a dealer only update so there shouldnt be any charge for them to do the update for you, this update is supposed to fix the "index full" issue with lots of devices, not just the Ipod

the fuse, with your head in the floor board looking at the fuses, theres a dark blue fuse towards the top left, its the first dark blue one from the top (its been a while since Ive done it now...I know it when I see it lol)

I had this problem and it is an iTunes problem. You've got some music that has some tags that are corrupted or something.

Read this: http://intpublish.dragonfly.ford.com...v=sg1&site=FOA

Download the app here:

Many people get ipods to work without issue but when you have an issue and fail to understand how it works and why you get them, instead blindly blaming sync which works flawlessly for millions of people, when it's usually apples problem will get you no sympathy.

Ipods have their own battery and OS which can cause a variety of issues. Not having both systems up to date can cause issues. Almost no one using a flash drive has problems.

Do it right and use what works or keep crying and having problems. Don't matter to me. Why anyone would want to stick a $300 ipod in their truck and never unplug it when they could more easily use a $6 flash drive and avoid all these problems baffles me, lol!

From what I know, absolutely no one has a dedicated music player anymore. It's all evolved into phones with expandable memory. ... I don't have a single clue what you're trying to say. It's 2014.

Indeed, Apple users might still be using stand alone players though because their phones have small storage capacity and aren't upgradable, they're a few years behind the curve still, lol!
