i know this has been a subject before but I have not received any answers or heard of Nyone getting this to work yet.

I have a 2012 Lariat with 8" Sony sync/nav and iPhone 5 that is updated to 8.3.1 and cannot send or receive texts through the 8" nor will it notify me or a message.
It will call and receive phone calls that is it.
Does anyone else know of this working or a perminent fix for this?

 

it doesn't receive texts, nor will it notify you. New sync it works fine.

 

Is it just apple products?

 

for that model sync, yes

 

I think so because when I had android the SMS message worked fine over sync.

You really aren't missing anything, it got old pausing the music for every text.
