I've had it stick on initializing twice, but works fine after you unplug and plug it back in.

I have to constantly remove & reinsert the thumb drive when I restart the truck to get my sync to work properly. Sync works great if I remember to remove the thumb drive before I turn the truck off, or not use the thumb drive at all.

And yes. I have tried multiple brands, sizes, and formatted & reformatted to FAT32. Made sure there is no biometric security, or the U3 crap on the device. Still have the same issues regardless.

That is good to hear. How long have you had the update, and have you left your thumb drive in the entire time afterwards?

I've had a 16gb thumb drive running off usb2 for about a month now without any problems on the original version of sync. I have problems with my iPod classic (180gb) plugged into the same port much like what is described here. Works at first then can't be controlled, unplug and works for a while then not again. Frustrating but also interesting as to why the thumb drive works flawlessly. Hope the update resolves but also not planning on bringing it in to have it updated that is ridiculously inconvenient!

Yes, I know about the volume control. My post was more concerned with the defening sound the ringer makes when it comes in.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to make an appointment, or wait for it to be available on the Sync support site.

How can you determine your Sync version?
