I have a 2013 Lariat EcoBoost with Sync 2 MFT. I have searched a bunch but cannot find anything concrete. What part numbers do I need for a Screen and APIM to get SYNC 3 with Navigation and work with Android Auto?

Thank you for all the work in this thread!

There are just too many different part numbers presently to be completely tracked, which keeps growing as Ford is still producing them in current MY's, so I suggest you go by the first page of this thread and simply look for vehicle models and model years that have been suggested as working; e.g., APIM's from 2016+ Escapes, recessed-mount screens from 2017+ Explorers, or flat-mount screens from 2016+ Escapes. I'd suggest the newer the better because there at least two, if not more, generations of APIM's, and the gen 1's FW have so far been unable to be upgraded to newer FW's; the caveat being that 2019+ APIM's may or may not be compatible (may remain constantly powered with key off resulting in battery drain). So the safe bet seems to be 2018 MY's.

My APIM came from a 2018 Mustang and my recessed-mount screen came from a 2018 F250...

Default Final tweaks

OP and everyone else who contributed I really appreciate it, I followed this to feel confident enough to alter my original mounts to fit the screen and flash my asbuilt data on my sync 2 to 3 upgrade. I actually own a14 explorer sport and and a 17 lincoln mkz so not even an f150 but sync is the same and this is probably the most active thread on the topic and I've read almost every page so thank you! I just finished the sync 2 to sync 3 upgrade on my explorer and it went pretty smooth.

The apim is one of the "Gen 4" Czech made 2019 apim that came running 3.3 19052. Everything including nav was working after asbuilt and turning it on. I then upgraded the maps and version using the cyanlabs package to reformat and upgrade to 3.4 20021 and immediately I found several issues. The first issue was GPS was receiving no signal and I couldn't figure out why, in diagnostic screen will show zero satellites registered. The second I change apim country code to UK or many other non North America country code, GPS instantly starts receiving signal. US MX CA all of the normal north America countries kill the GPS signal. The 2nd issue is also tied to the country code, I assume because Sirius is only a North American service, using the country codes that allow GPS to work stop any of the data services in Sirius, the actual channels still work but no icons or channel guide data, no rewind button. If I change back to the US country code, Sirius icons and channel guide appears but GPS dies. What change did the format or 3.4 upgrade change that caused this? My maps do show uk speed limit style signs when navigating which is strange but everything else works so I could live without sirius icons but would like to solve both issues.tried going back on maps and version and it was the same problem

Thanks again and hope everyone is looking forward to spring, we definitely are here in Longwood Florida.

There is a fix for the battery drain, I found it on the forscan forum,

apim option to change in forscan

7D0-06-01 x1xx change the 0 to 1 and it should turn your screen off correctly.

Man if you've got time there are definitely deals on eBay, have to search less specific and buy quick if something good shows up because stuff will sell right away when priced low but I got my 2019 nav apim for $150 and my screen for another $150. I was less than $400 in parts after the usb hub gps antenna and connector cables.

Is that possible that you installed European version of SYNC 3? It might be the reason. Check what you have installed against the files posted on the first page of this thread. It shouldn't be Apim related if you have configured it properly.

Well it's possible I guess, however I tried to roll back to 3.3 and it seemed to have the same issues.

Anyone having issues with Samsung S10/Note10 not being able to be answered or hung up with the steering wheel controls?

mine hasn't worked right since sync 2 a few years ago. I think it has to do with the issues those button have since my volume sometimes changes the song/station and the skip forward sometimes goes backwards. it's a total clusterf**k. it also doesn't always answer the phone either.

You should replace the button since they have been known to fail
