I've been looking at getting one or 2 of these since my regular toolbox is already full and under my seat is getting there too. I'm wondering how secure they are and how big they are as well

Here is an install I did on a 2009 once. I liked it very much too but had to sell it, as it was in the way of the bed extender I later installed:

if it didnt cover up the "board slot" I'd be all over it. but I either have a cap or a tonneau cover on my truck at any given time. I have a 2x6 cut to fit in the slots so stuff doesnt slide to the front of the bed. same concept as a bed extender.
it appears using one of these would make using a board impossible.
great concept, but wont work for me.

my brother has 2 of them in his Tundra (1 on each side) and he loves them. Not hard to install either, need 2 people though to make it easier. He loves them.
The only downside to them is that if they are too heavy from being over-loaded they sag a little and don't latch in the shut/locked position and may bend the hinge. This happened to my brother dirvers side one because he used that one to store all bolts and fasteners (which get heavy quick) while the other side held various tools which take up more room so there was less weight in it.

Will be putting in a drivers side this week. Best price is amazon. Has anyone put one over a bed-rug? Did you put it over or cut slots for it? They are suppose to hold 50lbs.
