Default Sync disappointment.

So I moved all my music off my phone, and onto my iPod, which is plugged into USB1. I figured I'd then only use my iPhone for Pandora.

WRONG!

Pandora won't play through the truck anymore because the truck says there's no media files on the phone.

Grrrrrrr

Oh well, I'll just have to move a single mp3 back to my phone.

Lol, just upgrade to an android phone. Apple sucks and is way behind the tech curve of the top end androids! Your ipod will probably cause problems too, it's best to put mp3s on a flash drive for trouble free operation.

Sultin Gris is right about about one part with the android. Being Microsoft it works better with sync ( also Microsoft) apple will work but I also have the same problems with my apple phone I actually just took my truck in and they totally reprogrammed my sync and it fixed everything and didn't cost anything or at least didn't for me. Might try that but it does take a couple of hours for them to do.

How are you connecting your phone? When I plugged my iPad mini into USB1, I had the same No Media issue, but through endless twiddling, I was able to get Pandora working, but it's hugely flakey.

I play Pandora through Bluetooth Audio and have my iPod Nano plugged into USB2.

Android isn't Microsoft, but it's open source so it works better with everything. Apple is locked and hobbled and generally only works good with other Apple gear. They don't like to play nice with anyone, they want you to spend another 600 $ on more of their products to get stuff to work. My android connects to my xbox and my tv and my pc and playstation, I don't think apple works with anything but apple tv, lol

I'm frustrated, but like my Apple products.

I like Sync, too, for that matter.

While this interface isn't perfect, it's better than what I had previously.

I'm letting it connect via BT, then I fire up Pandora, and then once it loads and starts playing, I plug in the dock connector.
It loads on my list of available sources, but won't play anything.

If I have music on my phone, it works flawlessly.

Check your settings over and make sure your phone is updated. That seems to help some. If you used a top end Android you would never go back to Apple, unless settings and options confuse you. I equate apple to the junebug of smartphones, if you've ever seen that commercial, Haha!

Yea, because there is no media files on the phone.

Did you install the MFT Pandora app which controls the pandora app on your phone?
