Default Swapping Factory Stereo

Hello,

I am new to this forum. I tried to search but wasn't finding what I wanted. I have a 2012 F150 XL that has the standard CD player and would like to upgrade the system to either the factory DVD Navigation system or something similar. Any suggestions or has anyone done this before that they could point me in the right direction about?

But I could go aftermarket correct? If so what would be some options there? I know its all one piece so that makes upgrades a bit more difficult.

Also Ford doesn't sell any factory replacements in case they go out or something happens to them?

aftermarket will be the way to go.

you will need a kit like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Double-DIN-R...5349d5&vxp=mtr

it's very easy to install. you will need to transfer your A/C controls to the aftermarket dash piece. that kit and a wiring harness will make your swap plug and play.

4DTech sells a factory DVD Nav system they can program to your truck. It comes with all of the proper wiring to allow you to continue using Sync as well. It ain't cheap but it works as advertised.

Not sure if you have checked Crutchfield, but they have these kits now:

Default Contact Walt at adcmobile.com

Contact Walt at adcmobile.com. I finished the install on Friday of a new Advent HU that I purchased from Walt. The Advent Navigation HU retains Sync, Steering Wheel Controls, Bluetooth, etc ... It is a great unit in my opinion. Everything to complete the install is provided with the HU. the install took me about 3 hours but I had to rewire everything because I have a complete after market system. I had a Kenwood Nav HU that was outdated and I am glad to have Sync and everything else back in my truck. I never thought I would say that! The Advent HU also looks very much like a factory navigation HU. I am extremely satisfied with this unit and the customer service that I received was way above average. I was also able to tap in to my existing rear view camera and it shows on the HU as well as my rear view mirror. To top it all off, the price wasn't too high. I believe in you get what you pay for. Let me know if you have any questions.

that 4Dtech isnt a bad price imo, i have a rosen unit now and im starting to regret it, may well look into that factory setup. I spoke with walt at ADC about the Advent unit a few weeks ago. He told me that his unit is a 50/50 chance on my 2010 that it will work properly due to some data changes during that production year. the advent seems like a great unit also.

That looks like a really nice setup. If you don't mind, what did that set you back?
