Supersprings, hellwig or roadmaster

Mainly because I couldn't figure them out. I could get a nice unloaded ride and rub the frame, or have a stiffer ride and no rub.
Besides, I needed a good reason to justify the air compressor setup to the wife and the helper air bags were it. Of course, that led to the air horns too.

Roadmasters threw off my truck's thus angle. Sadly, alignment guys don't know enough about alignments anymore to adjust the road masters until the thrust angle was sorted out.
Roadmasters: not part of the Hunter program.

I installed Hellwig pro series silent helper springs on my truck a couple of weeks ago. I love them. Easy to install & i got them for $200 (Canadian Dollars) brand new, still in box cause the guy decided to go with airbags for what ever reason.
The ride is a little firmer in the rear end, not much, but noticeable. I dont think it gave me any lift, i did not buy them for a "lift" though, just wanted to be more stable when carrying a heavy load.
My only complaint about them is, they are a little noisy despite being "silent springs"...
My word of advice if you do go with the hellwig springs, put a piece of rubber (1/8"- 1/4") thick on the bottom of the U bolts (the flat bar) as what is happening is they are sliding slightly and making sound when going over harder bumpers. I have them as tight as the instructions say to do (2" of deflection) so i know they are tight as they should be but the bottom bar of the U bolt tends to slide a little. I have not done this myself, but though about it, after driving around for a couple of weeks the noise has calmed down cause they are settling is my assumption. If you put the rubber under the flat bar, that will stop them from sliding and also give it a little cushion.

Then to adjust the preload on the rear with a max of 2". Is that how you did yours ?

if the instructions said that, i must have missed it. I did them both about 1 3/4" deflection..... ill have to look at the instructions again and read them haha i just skimmed over them cause i had a pretty good idea on how to do it... but now you got me thinking and ill have to double check.
I just double checked and between the poly bushings, there is about 7/16 or 1/2" of gap on all 4 ends.
the way i did it was, place the leaf pack ontop with the long part facing the rear of truck.
Place all u bolts on, never seize everything, then did all the u bolts up finger tight and made sure they were all in the same spot and away from anything that it could hit.
Next i tightened the two middle ones tight so the pack would not move. Then went just shy of 2" on front, then same with the back.... then did the whole procedure again for the other side.

It says it in the middle of the first page, in bold print lol.
Yeah I watch one video on how to install and it said to lift the truck until the tires jus barely touch the ground. Then install. But that's the only place I saw that. So I'll just follow the directions
