Supercrew Raptor: What makes it sit higher?
The thread below that contains pictures of the new supercrew raptor has me curious what gives the truck the additional height when compared to my '09 supercrew 4x4. Obviously the tires are much larger than mine, but it seems to sit up a lot higher than mine does...and I liiiiiike it!

Even running 35's...it still has a lot of clearance around those tires (in the wheel wells). I am thinking a leveling kit and some larger than stock tires will give me some more height but it won't look like that....

A whole new suspension up front and blocks under the leafs in the back. Total travel up front is just under 12" and just over 12" in the rear. Don't forget too the total track width has been widened on the Ratpor by over 7" as compared to the standard F150, to make room for all the new bits up front (that's probably what's giving you the sense of being overall much bigger/beefier/taller etc)

What is the block size in the rear? SVT leaves?

To the best of my understanding, the uppers are also Raptor specific; however unlike the lowers which are aluminum, the uppers are forged steel. The mounting points for all of this is exactly the same between the Raptor and the standard F150, so they had to tweak everything from the mount out, to get the 7" wider stance which is what allows for all the articulation.
They also lowered the spring rate on the corners (as compared the standard F150), beefed up the Raptor's axle tubes (front and rear), and half shafts (all Raptor specific).
Not sure on the block height in the back (3" I think??), but the leafs are Raptor specific.
