Haven't heard of a recall..
I've read a few stories about them failing, but I would guess more uncommon than common. I've had one in my 05 for 8 years no issues and going on 4 year's with zero issues in my 14.

Keeping the track's clean and greased can go a long way in avoiding a repair.

You only need to worry about this, is you are out of warranty, since its a very expensive dealer repair.

I have a 2013. There is precisely 1 recall listed at NHTSA for my year, and it is only for certain trucks with the EB engine (the master cylinder issue). Ford doesn't do a whole lot of recalls.

Mine broke with like 40,000 miles and very limited use. Dealer wanted 2000$. There is a kit online you can get for much less, like 300$, and install yourself but it is a lot of work. When it happened to me it seemed it was really common because the thing is made of plastic.

There is no recall and it is my belief it is intentional so Ford can make money on service. I got mine fixed under an extended warranty I had and no longer use the sunroof at all because it is the same plastic junk that will break again.

I swear the design team at Ford needs to be fired. They can put out a 50,000$ truck but can't help themselves to include cheap plastic moving parts and even cheaper foam gaskets that fail in short order in multiple locations and completely ruin the interior of the vehicle.

Can anyone tell me the measurements of the 2013 ford f150 lariat sunroof. I want to buy the track assembly from the salvage yard but i need to know the measurements to see if they will fit.

The design has been in use for over a decade. No recall.

Here are the replacement parts.

I brought the replacement kit and took my truck to the body shop to have it installed and they told me that it didn't work . Showed me the parts that they had put in and said that i was going to need the whole track assembly.

Mine broke on the test drive lol. The dealership repaired it themselves, after dragging their feet for 2 weeks to get the parts, and then another week to actually repair it. I use it once and awhile towards the end of summer and early fall, but i do not open it fully anymore. just prop it open (tilt). Even then i use it a lot less than i thought i would.
