Default Sunglasses holder won't open

Does anyone have any tips for getting this thing open when the latch doesn't work? I was able to open it and put my glasses in there this morning, but this afternoon, I press the holder to drop them down and nothing. I can tell it's bottoming out as it won't go in any further, but it still won't fall down.

I will take it in to get the dealer to fix, but I need my goggles! It's sunny as all hell and with a blanket of snow on the ground it's blinding!

Thanks!

Get some smaller glasses that don't jamb it up... J/k I use mine daily, front slot for sunglasses and rear slot for work safety glasses.... No problems to date with mine!

Id try to keep working it, sooner or later it will open?

My glasses do that as well, just gotta pop it real quick and firmly and it will swing down.

i have tried it all. We had our coldest night since March last night and I put them away when I first got in last night, maybe the latch snapped. There is no push back at all in the mechanism. They are definitely not stuck in there. Just didn't want to break anything trying to pry it open.

Mine won't stay closed. Falls open easily. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Default In response to stuck sunglass holder. Here's how to solve the problem.

Drop the holder out from the rear
Drop the holder down to expose the 2 wired connections.
Push the tab forward to release the latch.

I’m was having the same issue. Then clip that the sunglasses tray clips into broke. It’s a replaceable part (no need to replace the entire overhead console), but I’m not able to find the part number online. Just the entire console. Any ideas?

Just because it's a replaceable part doesn't mean they sell it separately. (Though they may)

When I was doing roadside assistance, a buddy of mine jumped a Corvette and rested his jump pack on the fuse box cover and the owner FREAKED OUT because it left the tiniest microscratches in the plastic. We ended up having to buy the whole fuse box because they didn't sell the top by itself.

That being said, you might be able to source it on Ebay.
