Default subwoofer

I just ordered a truck the other day was wondering if the sub is an option or it came standard on the truck. I ordered an xlt, it says am/fm single cd on the invoice.

I have the sub, and I dont' have NAV - it's the Sony Upgraded system.

Correct. The Sony Upgraded and NAV systems both have subwoofers.

IMHO, you are better rolling your own.

The Sony "premium" 700 (ha) watt system is my one option disappointment with my Platinum.

That's what I've heard as well.

Curious, are you TechLarry on [H]?

have you guys done the poly fill mod on your sony sub? I did it on mine - cost free with an old pillow - and it improves the sound of the factory sub.

trying to find the thread... will edit if if i find it, but essentially get a socket wrench, remove the 3 bolts mounting the sub to the body, remove the magnet bolt holding the actual sub to the casing, unplug the wiring harness, flip the sub over, remove the 10 or so screws, carefully remove the speaker and stuff the case with poly fill. put it all back together. and it improves the sound greatly.

here is the link: (i swear it sounds better).

I was happy with the Sony system before the poly, even happier after. It may not be the best, or as good as you can do after market, but if you're optioning the truck and don't feel like doing the system yourself, it's not a bad way to go.
