Yes, I cut the rear bulk head carpet for 2 reasons. 1 was to get to the bracket, and 2 it set the sub back about 1 inch or so.

I bought the largest HangAll they offer. I think there are 3 sizes available if I remember.

I did a similar installation, based on Pale Screw's original write up (thanks again for the inspiration!!). I did not cut the insulation out. I cut slots in it that I fed the strap through and around the bracket. I works great - no rattles, snugged up tight with the Husky HangAll. The ones I used have straps about 1.5" - 2" wide. Have to cut off the carabiner hanger thing.

Lol, I have a 2013 FX2

This was the site I use for all installs. I used the 2012 wiring diagram and worked perfectly.

This is where I plugged the mini fuse holder for the sub turn on

Sorry just been busy to get pictures and actually I used the huge Home A/C zipties 2 of them to strap to the back through the carpet and around the speaker.

Also just throwing it out there but has anyone put polyfill in the S/O box?

FX2screw

I've never given it a second thought to this. There is a total of 16" vs 8" of bass compared to the factory system. The bass coming from the two 8 inchers is clear, and punchy. The bass is on both sides of the cab, and fills the cab well with sound. Besides, these are really compact. I don't think there is much room to add poly that would make much difference. Theocoog may have an opinion on this, but I feel there is more than enough clean bass.

I concur. More than enough bass for me. My son likes to crank the bass and the rearview mirror vibrates, but I tone it down a bit. Riding in the back with the bass cranked up is like sitting on a vibrating bed.

Which stock radio version did you have in the fx2?

I thought about going this route but in the end said screw it and put a 10" Phoenix Gold Slim in a sealed box under the seats and gave it 300rms. I've got a camper shell so losing the space under the rear seat was a none issue. I put Alpine 6.5 components in the front doors (tweeters mounted to a-pillar) and also replaced the rear speakers with Alpine 2-ways. Next I'll get another amp to drive the door speakers because with windows down and the tunes cranked they just can't keep up with the sub.

Default sub wiring

How did you wire the positive/negatives of the 2 subs? Did you join them at the rear or run both sets to the front?
Thanks,
Bob
