I just bought a 14 STX SPORT with the 5.0L. Things I miss from my XLT are keyless entry, and bench seat. I wish they came with a rear slider as well, but I may be changing that soon.

At first I didn't like the plainess of the STX. But once I tinted the windows all around it made up for the lack of factory tints. The only thing and its just 1 that I miss from my 2011 XLT is the interactive display on the guage cluster. Other then that I dont miss the chrome accents on the interior or the chrome on the outside. I actually prefer this plastic steering wheel without the leather wrapping on it.

Actually make it 3 things total, the other 2 are the heated side mirrors with the blinkers and the auto dimming dash when it gets dark or bright out.

I found myself at a dilemma when it came to decide which F-150 style I wanted. I began by listing all of my options and decided that an FX4 was the trim level that fit me best however when I checked on prices, the FX4 was cost prohibitive. While I liked all of the features found on an XLT, I did not care for the chrome appearance as, in my humble opinion, was much too gaudy and the cost of an XLT was still in the $40K+ range. So I focused on the STX trim but I was not enamored with the basic interior until the "Sport" package was introduced for the 2014 models. Due to living on a budget like the rest of us, I found the STX to be out of my price range so I kept an eye out for discounts and rebates until I found the perfect F-150 for me. I ended up purchasing a STX Sport at a dealership in Northern Virginia ( I live in NE Ohio ) when the rebates and other discounts such as X-plan were factored in. It was worth the 235 mile trip for me to make as the same truck was listing for $6K more here in my area.

The STX with the Sport package is just about perfect for me and what I want out of a truck. Yes, I would like to have the heated leather seats, rear slider, and auto headlamps to name a few but I am more than happy with my Blue Flame STX Sport as it has the things that I really wanted such as 5.0 L V-8, 4-wheel drive, cruise, sync, power windows, trailer tow pkg, and black interior color to name a few.

At the end of the day, you have to weigh the cost and package options that suits you best. Either way, you cannot go wrong with an F-150

1) Day 2 - wiper fluid would not spray on driver side. Dealer took it apart and found nothing wrong, and when they put it back together it magically worked. No failure since then.
2) Day 2 through Day 20: Car would randomly refuse to start. Had to take key out of ignition and try again, over and over 30 or more times before finally getting truck to start. Dealer said the starter motors on the 2014 SXT are a huge problem and they over-nighted a new one and now the truck starts perfectly.
3) Sync services had a huge problem with their website. Had to make a whole new account to get Sync services to work.
4) Wife complaining that the seat is too hard, but to me they feel fine. She is comparing them to our Avalanche and GMC Suburban; both of whom have WAY nicer seats. Can't replace the seats because they have built-in airbags.
5) Did they really sell me a truck where the rear view mirror won't adjust at night? Is this 1976 or 2015? Geez, Ford. Come on now!
6) Did they really sell me a truck where the headlights don't go off when you take the key out of the ignition and you have to turn lights on and off manually? My Avalanche and Suburban don't have that issue. Geez, Ford. Come on now!
7) Vehicle computer restricted to 90 mph. Ordered a 5-Star Tuner that will be here next week and hopefully remove that idiotic restriction.
8) Why did they put silver colored 20" wheels on a Tuxedo Black truck where everything else is black? I might have to order Raptor rims. And the tires are a joke. I need mud and snow tires for Upstate NY and they put stupid highway tires on it.
Stop...

I also looked at the two packages and I am happy with the STX.....the STX I bought is a 2014 with the 5.0 in extended cab. It came standard with power windows and locks. Standard step rail which was all of the things I was looking for....the XLT seemed like more cosmetic features I wouldn't miss

Love mine - it has the right options and all I need with he 5.0/auto.
No need for a foofy truck package - it just raises the price.

the black interior of the Sport really sets it apart from the XLT.
