Default Stumbling after cold start

Maybe someone can help me with this. It is more of an annoyance than anything else. Truck has always started just fine, never had a single problem with that. But for some reason, whenever starting a cold engine when sitting on an incline, when I go to take off, it feels as though the truck stumbles a bit. There are two to three quick surges, then the engine "catches up" and everything is fine.

It starts up fine, it idles fine, no rattle, no noise. Just when I drop it into drive after a cold start, I get a couple of quick surges when I first take off. It generally does not happen if I let the truck sit and warm up completely. Any ideas?

Truck is a 2013 XLT with a 3.5L ecoboost. I have a Full Race CAI and a Full Race catch can. Oil changed every 5,000 miles and new spark plugs every 15,000. I am also running an MPT 93 Performance Race tune. But the surging has always been there. Thanks in advance.

I have a similar issue, only in my case for about 15 seconds the truck runs a little rough. After about 30 it runs and idles fine. I always figured I had the carbon build up issue (I have a 3.5l). But if I cold start it, and drop it in drive it does exactly what you are talking about. Incline, flat, doesn't matter.
