Default Stuck on trailer screen in dash display????

Anyone know how to get this screen to stop showing up every time is start the truck now??? I went to this screen last week to see how many miles were on my trailer and now its stuck there and accumulating “trailer miles” every day even though there is no trailer hooked up to the truck, if you hit the brake controller it says “no trailer connected”…… doesn't matter what screen I'm on when I shut the truck off it comes back to this one next time I start the truck, if it isn't one thing its another with this truck......

Wink

Look in your owners manual to find out how to set up your information display settings. So, After you start the truck, after the indicators lights stop their flashing (Check engine, etc.) on your 4-way buttons on the left side of the steering wheel, press the left arrow. It will go to the Off Road screen , the one that shows the little truck with the tilt degrees and the drive wheel indicator. Press it again and it will go back to the information Icon screen if that's what it's called? Then just go up or down for whatever you want to display. Or, depending on how you have the settings, you can hit the up or down arrow to change which screen you want to see. In "Settings" is where you set it up. Usually when you hook up a trailer is when the display will default to the Trailer tow information screen. After you take it off it will remain as the default screen until you change it. That's how it is on my '11 anyway.

I had the exact same thing last week and it was really annoying me. I tried all different settings and couldn't get it to do anything to solve the problem.

I finally was going to set up a bogus trailer that I could select so miles would be accumulated on it instead of my normal trailer.

However, in the picture of your display see where it says "Press OK for Options"? When I pressed OK it takes you the page to set up a new trailer, delete a trailer, etc.

There's also a selection for "No Active Trailer".
I selected that and it solved the problem!!

Hopefully that will take care of your problem too!

^^^^ That worked!

i never realized if you went to that screen to check the trailer mileage that it actually "activated" that trailer in the system.

I have the same thing but in a Lariat. So my dash looks a little diff. I don't see an option for "no active trailer". My tabs are across the top. My default trailer is adding mileage and it always reverts back to the towing screen on start up.

What is the fix? It seems as tho my screen is picked for my off road tab. I'm sure it's a setting but can't find the right one. Thanks

Yes, it's been awhile now but there is a no trailer active on the lariat too. It's in that trailer tab. Let me know if can't find it and I will go out to my truck and find the exact path. I remember it drove me nuts but help on this thread I was able to get it fixed.

My '13 had this problem recently and I had to select no active trailer to fix it. However, I know it never worked this way previously- I always had my snowmobile trailer set as the active trailer and when I plugged it in that screen came up as the trailer connected. When I disconnected, that screen would not come up as the default startup screen, since with the Memory On feature I have the gauges screen set as my default. But recently, it got stuck on trailer screen and even if I took it off that screen, with truck running, it still racked miles on that trailer and at the next key off/on that darn screen came up as the default showing my snowmobile trailer which was not connected.

The only way to get it From going to that screen at startup was to select "no active trailer". But this was new behavior.

My F350 does not work this way and neither did my F150 previously.

I swear it's a problem with the software or computer, but no way to prove that since taking it off an active trailer seems to be a work around.
