Default Stuck on tires (not another one of these, I know)

Gotta get some new tires soon. When i got my truck the tires on it wore bad from not being aligned.

Was looking at getting the KO2, even though i dont need the LT tire
But I just recently found a sale on some P-Metric Duratracs for about $970 which is about $200 less than the KO2's were gonna cost.

So now im stuck. Snow driving for me in NC is next to none, or very little. But when we get snow, it doesnt get plowed.

Leaning towards the P Duratracs for cost. But the tread of the KO2 is more appealing to me.

We also use my truck as the family vehicle for road trips as well as I use it at our hunting property. Ive spent days reading about different tires. I like the looks/ performance combo of these 2 the best.

Anyone able to push me one way or the other?

I think Duratracs look better, but you know what they say about opinions.

The snowflake will come in handy in case you run over a spilled sno-ball!!

Truck looks great with the BFG's and lifted.

Gents, how are these tires in rain? I also looking for new tires and I keep reading that they have a problem with hydro-planning. Your feed back is appreciated.

I heard the old KO's had hydroplaning issues...not sure how true it is? I haven't heard anything about the KO2's having hydroplaning issues. I've been running Duratracs on my Bronco for almost 5 years and they are fine in the rain. My 2017 comes stock with KO2's so I'll find out in a couple months when I get my truck how they are in the rain.

I had the old style TA/KO's on my '04 Lariat and never had any problems hydroplaning. I found they had pretty good traction in the rain and we get lots of rain down here.

I have the new KO2s on my Wrangler and it hydroplanes so bad when I hit a deep puddle at highway speeds that I thought I was going over. Now, the Jeep is very light and sits on a 3 1/2" lift with 33s, so I attribute it to the vehicle, not the tire. Other than that, they run nice and quiet and were tremendous in last winters deep snow.

I had the same tires on my Z71 and had terrible hydroplaning. Almost lost control and flipped the truck because of it. That truck now sits on Yokohama Geolander ATS. With that being said, when it's time to replace the Pirellis (currently around 42k mi) on the F150, I'll be giving the KO2s a hard look with the new design supposedly being much more water friendly and the Yokohama's being louder than expected.
