I just can't understand why it would make the sound only under acceleration. Makes no sense. Like most of you, when I let off of the gas, it goes away. Every single time.

2011 with a 3.7 here... Did the same thing, but only at around 35-40mph under light acceleration. I put a stainless steel hose clamp on the driver side of the heatshield, and problem solved.

old thread but just had this on my 2011 with 5.0. Driver side comes with a factory banding strap (like permanent hose clamp) and they rust out.

I also noticed that both of my engine exhaust manifold heat shields are failing in the area that they bolt down. That it also another place that metal can rattle.
