Allow me to assist, Chucko2929, icedemon, & Azuri. Please pass on the current odometer reading of your vehicles; I will check the available options.

Hi Kwasi,

16,900km on my 2013. Mine is getting the deodorizing treatment tomorrow if that doesn't solve it goes back in. My service department has been working with me I'm just skeptical the deodorizing is a bandaid short time fix.

Mine was in for like 2 hours. They didn't waste my time or theirs with the deodorizing treatment. Must have used the UV light and found the leak and ordered the replacements.

Could it be because I use the remote start? I let it idle too long? It does seem to disappear after driving a little bit but I don't know if it goes away or I just get used to it. Any input would really be helpful. This is the first new vehicle I've ever owned, plus, I'm a little OCD. I don't want to be an alarmist and I know I'm driving my wife nuts. I'm trying not to do the same to my dealers service dept.
Thanks in advance
"THis is my First new vehicle I've ever owned" ... I think is your issue.

He may actually not be too far off. Since this started almost 2 months ago now, I smelled the same smell briefly yesterday, while I was standing by the rear passenger side of my truck.
Thought that was a little odd since it has only smelled briefly when first started.
This was at the end of the day. A 1/2 hour after I got home.

Update:

A new evap on order for me now. I'm about to pick the truck up now since the part has to be ordered so it's not quite over for me yet but I guess they determined that the "deodorizing" wasn't the solution in my case. I will update when the part has arrived and getting installed. It will be the third time and hopefully last time for this issue.

Actually it is a typo. it should read

"This is my First new vehicle I've ever owned"

the meaning being that the new vehicles these days produce platic
type smells when new through the air vent systems that i've noticed.

Default Me Too

My 2013 started having the barnyard *** smell the other week. Took it in and they put in some coverup smell that has now faded and the barnyard smell is back. Anyone know of a fast track way of getting this issue resolved without having to go through the usual service runaround?

Hi oborseth,

I'll look into this and see how I can help. How many miles do you have on your truck?

Crystal
