2013 Eco18,000 miles, started smelling the Band-aid aroma when the weather warmed up. My HVAC setting is always in the auto mode and the truck sits in the garage over night. When started and the smell starts to be noticeable, the A/C will be on along with the truck blowing heat, obviously the trucks trying to get moisture out of the cab, when the A/C kicks off, the smell goes away. Something with a A/C related component that's not in use over the winter and now it's burning accumulated dust, salt from the roads, or something else. I would bet when we use the A/C everyday in the upcoming months the smell goes away. Only thing is that it didn't happen last spring...weird.

I called my dealer today about an update to the MFT sync BS, and asked him about this smell. Service manager told me that they have had a bunch of 13' edge's come in with it but no f150's. He said in the edge it is mold on the heater core and said every one was a 13 which my truck and every other one in this thread sounds like it is. I have an appt Saturday morning to check it out I sure as heck hope it's not mold. Kinda makes me wonder what they changed in the 2013MY vehicles hvac system

Anyone ever hear of a Bradford pear tree? Well when I left work, the whole neighborhood was smelling...um naughty! This was the first time I was happy to smell band aids in my truck!

If it is mold, where do I add bleach? Lol!

I will surely be posting what I hear from them. All I know is whatever it is it stinks. My daughter almost threw up in truck this morning when I took her to school.

I just got home from the dealer with my truck. Service manager told me the evaporator is plugged with refrigerant that has leaked from somewhere and that the housing is cracked on something. Sorry for the vague description but I can't remember what he all said because he talks to fast. Long story short he has ordered all new hvac parts and they have to take the dash out to replace all of it. All of which is covered under warranty. He also said there was some mildew in the duct system caused by this and thinks that's where some of the smell was too
