Stock jack cannot lift truck!

That's one reason I always carry one of these: http://www.hi-lift.com/hi-lift-jacks/all-cast.html

A bottle jack and a square of 3/4 plywood come in handy too. Agreed, Ford jacks suck.

http://www.hi-lift.com/accessories/lift-mate.html Not sure if I'd try this on my truck. On my past jeeps, yes

i had a friend have the nut on those scissor jacks come off and he had his arm crushed under a wheel on an eclipse (yes he was one of those body kit/empty nos bottle guys) he was lucky, still has functionality of his arm and hand but has a pretty good scar and pretty constant pain.

K-Dubb, you've got a defective jack. Unfortunately I had to use mine (because I didn't want to wait an hour for roadside assist), and it worked fine. Fine being a relative term on a 90 degree day in humid South Carolina.
Have the dealer get you another one.

Rear: use the hitch reciever
Front: use your push guard.
Option: HiLift makes several nice accessories that allow use on girly bumpers and other pick points.
Experience in misuse perhaps?
I had the stamped steel version when I had my Scout(s). I have the all cast version for the F150 - a much increased load ability. In 30 years I've never had a problem with one. Of course, knowing what yur doin always helps
Of course, I don't ever really carry tools and tow straps for myself, y'know... I only carry them the those other guys.

Have a 2012 f150. Pulled out my jack and all the stuff with it to use the other day for the first time. Put the jack under the truck, minster the rod with the 3/4 circle on the end into the the piece that cranks the jack, and up the rod on that rod that allows you to crank so it is like a T. I start to crank it up until it gets weight on it and notice it is super hard to crank. Harder than it should be. The truck has maybe moved up an inch when the rod with the 3/4 circle in it just BENDS! It cant even crank the truck up now. I'm not sure I the jack wasn't working properly because it was so hard to turn, or I'd I had the setup wrong...I don't think it was the latter. Has this happened to anyone else? Guess I'll get a bottle jack.
