Default Steering Wheel Upgrade

Hi y'all. I'm looking to throw a Platinum steering wheel on my 2011 XLT. From my understanding it should be a quick process and the new wheel needs to be off a 2011-2014 truck. Has anyone done this before? The wheel will probably have more buttons than my current wheel so I should be able to get those to work? Also I know you can put a lariat wheel on the lower trim trucks, and there's walkthroughs of it, but I've searched throughout the forums and could not find a thread of putting a Platinum trim wheel on a lower trim (XL or XLT) truck. Please help me out.

Remove airbag, unhook airbag and horn connectors, set airbag aside. Unhook wiring harness connector from steering wheel, remove nut and then remove steeeing wheel. Reverse the process to install new wheel. Swap over the steering wheel switch packs to retain functionality.

Thanks for your input. I know how to do the installation, I'm wondering if anyone has done it along with hooking up extra controls my wheel does not have.

You don’t hook up the extra controls, you swap your controls over to the new steering wheel, as I mentioned.

My wheel only came with Cruise control buttons located on the left side of the wheel. So by extra buttons I'm talking about the stereo ones located on the right side of the steering wheel.
