Steering Wheel Stereo Controls Whacky

It's getting to the point where I rarely use the steering wheel controls anymore due to the issues. Looks like I need to implement this repair. Thanks again for identifying it!
I'm also curious if anyone knows how hard it is to replace the clockspring. I did it once on a 4Runner and it wasn't bad. I wouldn't think this would be too much different.

Having the same issues as others...buttons get turned around/swapped. I have a button module that I ordered and will try that first.

Let us know how that works. Many of us seem to have the problem come back in short order.
I'd like to hear how the clockspring replacement is working out for KJ Smith and any others that made that change. I hate to keep throwing money at this issue unless we really find the fix.

Thanks for the update! Looks like the clock spring may be the issue more often than the switch pack.

Went for a drive around town. Good so far. Usually it would wig out every drive so I'm optimistic. Have a long trip next week so should get a test.
Fyi...I have a 2010 and that switch pack is slightly different. I ordered the 2011 which has the "ok" next to the ☎ button. All the others work but it rendered my ☎ button inoperable. I'm fine with it because I never really used it, but just in case others need it, you'll want to get the correct pack.

My replacement switch was supposedly for a 2010, but it has the OK just like yours (see post #19). I'll have to check to see if the button still works. Obviously I don't really use it either.
I ordered a clockspring yesterday. Hopefully that will fix it once and for all. And I still have my old switch, so I can probably put that back in if the phone button is not working.

I had ordered the wrong switch pack also.
Tasca took it back because I had entered my VIN# and that should have stopped the order.
FYI: On my truck, it would act up more in hot weather.
Mine was an intermittent short in the clock spring.
