Well that didn't take long. Put the new switch in this morning. Doing the same crap this afternoon. Frustrating....

Then it started doing it again.... intermittent at first, then more and more often.
Finally last week it was doing it most of the time.
Took it in... they determined that it was the clockspring.

Just picked it up this afternoon....so far so good.
I will report back if it becomes an issue again.

At the time I did this everything was perfect..... for a couple of weeks.

Any idea what or where the clock spring is

Thank you and do please keep us updated. The clock spring is basically the coil of wire behind the steering wheel that allows the wheel to turn while maintaining the electrical connection to the switches on the wheel.

The paperwork showed he ran a test on it and found the intermittent short.
I wonder why the don't switch some of this over to Bluetooth type controls?
Might eliminate some issues..... or create others...

Mine is now doing the same again. It took about a month since they replaced the switch to start again. I'll try with the dealer again on the next oil change. Hopefully it's this spring thingy!
