Steering Wheel Stereo Controls Whacky

That would be awesome if that is the problem. Unfortunately it looks like the replacement part for the 2010 is a bit more expensive (~$73). I'll try the sync update first, and then this if you guys have success. Please let me know your results!

My 2014 was doing the same thing. Dealer replaced it under warranty and in less than a week the new switch is doing it. Very irritating when listening to Pandora and you want to turn up the volume and it changes the song. Going back to the dealer next week.

Note, I have a 2013 Platinum, these notes apply to it.
Very easy job, slightly different from the video.
On mine, the whole trim piece on the side of the steering wheel (the part with the aluminum on it) came out with the switch.
The switch was attached to it with a couple of allen head screws.
The trim and switch just push in as shown.
It "may" be possible to remove tis piece without removing the airbag.
However, just remove the airbag, its very easy.
I did not disconnect the wire harness to the airbag. There was enough slack to set the whole unit on top the steering wheel. ( I wonder if this is a safety issue?)
I went bottom, left, right. The left hung a little when trying to do it last.
I did not lose radio/ Nav presets from the battery disconnect.
Not counting the wait time, I was done in 20 minutes.
I won't consider this fixed for several months. As we all know, this is an intermittent issue.
I will report back if it continues.

Volume would change stations, station changer would change source.
If you hold the volume down long enough, it will reset itself for a little while.

This is certainly not a "must do", as it's not too much trouble to reach over and use the controls on the dash. But it's not an expensive fix, and it hopefully restores the functionality that the trucks came with. So I'm going to go ahead and do it very soon...especially since others are doing it successfully.

Changed my switch this morning. Took all of 20 minutes, including waiting 10 minutes after disconnecting the battery. Working fine right now, but the old switch was working fine right before I took it out. So time will tell if this really corrects the problem.
BTW, the video posted on page 1 of this thread is an excellent resource, and is applicable to 2010 vehicles as well. The only difference is that my original switch does not have the "OK" on the bottom button, but the one on the video, as well as the new one I bought specifically for my 2010 F150, both have it. Functionally they are identical.

My volume button always changed the channel since I bought the truck. This week the dealer put a new switch in while I was getting an oil change. Works great now.
