Just thought i would drop back in and say hello. As the original member of this thread i have to say, my issues have not been fixed. I am currently on my third rack. Hope to have another put in either soon or when it warms up again and gets much worse. I am at 25k. Getting concerned that at 36k I will no longer get support. Cant say I'm fired up about buying another ford. Maybe a chevy again or that new Ram looks pretty nice... Wish i had better news. Unfortunately Ford continues to prefer to throw broken parts at our trucks rather then attempt to fix them.

I had some relief when the temperatures began dropping. Except driving down dirt roads...But the knocking is horrible now that we have snow. This is my second rack. Driving in a neighborhood feels and sounds as if I'm in a 10 year old truck that needs suspension work asap.

my concerns were the same as yours, riverrat5.0 and i contacted customer care and they extended my warranty an additional 2 years. the warranty covers everything.

This is why I think the 6.2 is nice but it costs a ton. As an alternative and as I posted in this thread earlier when mine breaks out of warranty I am going to buy a 6.2 rack and a crate coyote retrofit power steering pump to power it. I bet the 6.2 parts bolt right on so to speak. Does the 6.2 rack still have a sensor to give a wheel direction? Not a real breaker for me though. See my link fro earlier.

Also wanted to update. I have about 7000km on my new rack, and still no issues with the popping. Hopefully I got a lucky one that works, or perhaps my dealership changed something that some dealers are not when they replaced the rack.

My truck has 21'000 kms (about 14'000 miles?). My popping noise started about 2 weeks ago. It seems to get worse every day. I can now feel a slight knock in my steering wheel. But mine isn't affected by heat. A few days ago it was -4 and the popping was still the same as today which is +5. My truck was built in august 2011 and I have a 1 inch leveling kit but that was installed almost a year ago. Browsing this thread, not sure if it's even worth the time to go to the dealer.
