I thought that I had this early on, however, then it seemed to stop. I know that I noticed it more when warm/hot out, but then after a few hundred miles on the odometer, it seemed to go away. Even in 90-100+ days that we've had in the last months, I haven't noticed it since. Hoping that it stays this way. *knocks on wood*

Next Thursday on my day off I'm dropping my truck off to the dealership and Ford is sending their engineer out to diagnose the problem. Which the dealer already did and replaced the part. I'm not too sure what the engineer is going to say....."well, I guess we'll just swap the epas again and cross our fingers."

Hey everyone. I have an update regarding our issue with steering. I too have been having this problem when it gets hot out.
I took my 2011 Ecoboost to the dealer a week ago for oil and tire rotation and for a faulty wiper fluid switch. I told the service guy about the steering issue and of course he hadn't heard of it. I told him that it only happens when it gets hot, especially after towing. They greased the steering stops and told me that was the problem. I politely told them that was not the problem knowing that there was nothing I could do if they couldn't recreate it.
Yesterday was 99 degrees here in San Diego and to make a long story short, I was able to have the service manager feel the knocking. The lead mechanic came out and verified it as well. They put the truck on the rack and promptly came back and told me; "the lower steering shaft was binding, then pulling apart and then clunking back together."
They are replacing the lower steering shaft or whatever it is but I am still suspect that this issue will not go away. I've got 21k miles and winter is coming. It probably won't get this hot again until after my warranty is up so hopefully we can figure this out before then.
Will keep you posted.

I am experiencing the exact same problem as everyone else in this thread. Today I drove 400 miles from San Diego to Mammoth Lakes in the Eastern Sierras. The weather was 90+ degrees for the entire trip, and for 6 hours every small uneven surface on the road transmitted thru the steering wheel. VERY annoying to say the least! This F150 feels like an old worn out 1972 F100. When I get back to San Diego my truck will go straight to the dealer for repair - if there is one.
